Remembering and resistance

This month’s topic of TRIPTYCH was a nice way to remember Ray Higginbottom’s influence on the group.
We saw interpretations from Arun Misra, Frankie McAllister, Fran Black, Sarah Wilkie and Sean McDonnell.
Frankie also shared recent work from a personal project in the Lake District, while Sarah took us to Florence for her selection.

In member news Arun gave a preview of a zine he’s been co-creating in response to the conflict in Gaza. It will be available directly by donation and also at The Photographers’ Gallery so look out for news on that.
Frankie opens her show A Subjective View at The Observatory Gallery and Café in Bloomsbury from January 16th.
Kyun Ngui is raising funds through Kickstarter to publish his new photobook A Nervous Symmetry.

We then discussed ideas for our Exhibition at St Mary’s Church in South Ealing in September. To submit it as a show for BEAT we decided to share ideas ready for a decision at our February meeting.
We have also setup a shared drive to create an archive of our previous exhibitions to provide material to approach new venues.

The topic for February’s meeting will be SPRING, the same as the subject of the next fLIP magazine so members can submit to that too.
