Angelika Berndt

It all started way back with my father's old Kodak Retina, a light meter and black & white film. Eventually I upgraded to an Olympus OM 40 bought from the local Oxfam shop. Some eight years ago I started moving into digital photography and last year I upgraded to a Cannon EOS 550 D.

A passionate explorer, my photography has been a way of 'telling the story'. Over the past 18 years my photography was mainly influenced by my human rights activities and travel experience and my wish to take the photo that tells the story of the people, their lives and their environment. Other influences to my photography was my ambition as a graphic designer and as an artist. Today I have expanded my photography to cover dance & events, portraits, landscape and documenting social projects.
